Aftermarket Domains Newsletter

Follow the asset from listing to verified control.

Aftermarket research starts where a new-registration search stops: with an existing registration and a proposed transaction. Read about exact-name checks, authority, history, delivery routes, and acceptance so an appealing listing can be evaluated as something that must actually be transferred. Keep the commercial appeal and the operational checks in separate parts of the purchase file.

Check what is being offered

Record the exact spelling, extension, included assets, asking terms, and observation date. Review relevant historical use and arrange appropriate rights checks. A domain appearing on a marketplace is not a replacement for a buyer-specific assessment of the name and its intended use. Treat missing evidence as unresolved rather than quietly marking the asset clear.

Confirm the feasible delivery route

Ask whether delivery uses an account change, a registrar transfer, or another eligible process. Check the actual domain status and who must perform each action. Do not commit to a deadline solely because the sales interface looks instant or another name transferred quickly. Confirm the sequence before changing information that could affect the process.

Define the finish line in advance

Agree on payment coordination, delivery, acceptance, and how unresolved issues are handled. Assign someone to verify the exact registration in the buyer’s account and review access, renewal, and recovery settings. Completion is more than receiving an order confirmation. Maintain a written handoff when different people handle negotiation, payment, and technical administration.
