MARKETPLACES / INDEPENDENT COVERAGE

Marketplace Domains Newsletter

Compare the workflow. Not just the brand.

Our marketplace coverage provides independent research routes for buyers and sellers. GoDaddy, Afternic, Sedo, Spaceship, and Atom are topic labels, not partners of this publication. We compare the questions worth asking rather than publish unsupported universal rankings or current fee claims. The right comparison begins with the actual transaction you need to complete.

Follow one complete transaction

Look beyond discovery. Identify the relevant listing type, negotiation method, verification process, payment coordination, and delivery responsibilities. Compare the same task across providers so a self-service listing is not mistakenly measured against a managed acquisition engagement. Note which party answers questions and what remains the buyer’s or seller’s responsibility.

Keep current terms attached to the decision

Check fees, minimums, payment options, regional availability, exclusivity, and transfer conditions with the relevant provider. Save the service name and date beside each answer. A figure without its scope can produce a misleading comparison even when it was once accurate. Retain “not confirmed” as an honest result when essential information is missing.

Give inventory management a real owner

For sellers using permitted parallel listings, keep one internal record of approved prices and status. Decide who reconciles discrepancies and removes names after a sale or withdrawal. Wider distribution is an administrative commitment, not a substitute for keeping listings accurate. Review the conditions of the exact product rather than assuming every tier follows the same rules.
